Description:

Light brown body with barring on back and wings. Males have a red patch on the crown and females lack the red.

Habitat:

Found mostly in desert areas of the southwest and mexico. May nest in Saguaro cactus.

Notes:

This was spotted in a Botanical Garden

These are the most common type in the southwest. Did see a Ladder-back but they are always shy to me
