Homoeocerus puncticornis
Coreidae; Coreinae; Homoeocerini; Homoeocerus puncticornis (Burmeister, 1834). This bug looks somewhat like Cletus trigonus, the obvious difference which helps to distinguish them, at a glance, is the two black marks on its back (C, trigonus has three white spots).
The specimens shown here were just a few of many on a Lablab Bean (Lablab purpureus) in our garden. These H. puncticornis appeared to be quite content to share this, one of their main host plants, with vast numbers of Coptosoma obtusiceps, Brachyplatys subaeneus and a few Leptocentrus taurus.
