Predatory Bug Nymph

Description:

A large black bug with orange trim behind head.

Habitat:

Found in our vegetable garden on a spanish needles plant.

Notes:

Possibly a predatory stink bug.

I am not 100% sure (not an expert). But I would agree with Mark's suggestion: In this photo the lower one looks like yours with all the red/pinkish stretched out abdomen.

Thanks Mark. I gave up choosing a species. Looked at many bug nymphs. It was so large I originally thought it was an adult of something. You're probably right considering the large size of that species. I'm still not sure enough. Will change post to Predatory bug nymph.
