Eastern Red Columbine

Aquilegia canadensis EditWatch this page

Description:

I have purple columbine growing in my garden, but was surprised by the red of this wild columbine. It was a real treat to see. I first noticed it blooming last year but did not get a shot of it.

Habitat:

Found growing nearby a creek that ran alongside a gravel road. It was the only columbine plant in the immediate area, from what I could tell.
