Carnivorous Sundew

Drosera sp.

Description:

This small specimen of carnivorous sundew plant has no more than 12cm. It has filaments that accumulate small water droplets (-Those water droplets are actually sticky, enabling the plant to 'catch' it's prey-). And, have a stem that develops in height 7cm.

Habitat:

This specimen was in a stone in a river near a waterfall. It is a very high and cold place, "Serra da Canastra - MG".

I agree with Seema. It looks like some sort of Sundew. Those water droplets are actually sticky, enabling the plant to 'catch' it's prey. Carnivorous plants are usually found in very poor soil. They are fascinating ! Great spotting :)
