European Earwig (female)

Forficula auricularia

Description:

Medium-sized insect with prominent cerci ("pincers") at the rear of the abdomen. Front wings small and ear-like, hind wings folded extensively beneath front wings when insect is at rest.

Habitat:

Common in urban yards and gardens, this one was on the door jamb of my apartment.

Notes:

Ominivorous.

They were introduced to Australia to, hate the buggers, they get into everything!!
