Lonchura punctulata
Small sparrow-sized bird with scaly marks on the front. Chestnut coloured head and back.
Electric pole. Urban residential area. On my morning walk route. There is an abandoned paint factory just underneath the electric pole and this place is so overgrown that no one ever goes there, plus entrance is sealed because of a court order (or so I hear). The pair took turns to collect green grassy twigs sometimes the twigs were longer than the bird's length.
I am pretty certain this used to be the nest of a Pied myna. I am just afraid the electricity guys will tear down the nest. Plus the risk of fire/electrocution. I have just seen a fledgling crow hanging dead from a similar nest (but made of twigs)
