Chokecherry

Prunus virginiana

Description:

A small tree with red to dark purple or black fruit.

Habitat:

Woodland Trail

Notes:

If you were to try and describe choke cherries in one word, it would probably be "bitter!" Although not a favorite, my family would sometimes pick them and make Chockcherry Jam or Wine.
