Yellow-rumped (Myrtle) Warbler

Setophaga coronata coronata

Description:

This subspecies of Yellow-rumped Warbler is the expected one here on the East coast. The Audubon's form found on the West coast has a yellow throat and a less contrasting auricular patch. The other two subspecies are found in Mexico and Central America. This individual is a male in transition plumage.
