Northern River Otter

Lontra canadensis laxatina

Description:

About 5 foot long. Tapered tail. Top (head to tail) was dark. Cheek and underside was lighter.

Habitat:

on fresh water lake

Notes:

Spotted at 10:15 AM. Observed on this lake before. Swam on and under lake, amongst cormorants. Watched for 30-40 minutes. Did not leave water to walk on land.
