Plant yellow to golden-brown; branch fascicles with 1-2 spreading, turgid, and 1-2 pendant, slender. Stem with 1 layer of outer cortical cells;branch leaves broadly ovate, chlorophyllous cells barrel shaped equally exposed on both surfaces; pores on commisures of convex surface.

Minerotrophic fen in Pine Barrens of NJ
