Wyoming Toothpick Grasshopper

Paropomala wyomingensis

Description:

Small- to medium-sized, extremely slender grasshopper with sword-shaped antennae. White stripe beneath eye is characteristic.

Habitat:

Large open field with short grass, rabbitbrush, and prickly-pear cacti.

Notes:

One of the more extreme "slant-faced" grasshopper species.
