No there is no coniferous tree around. This area generally characterised by Blue Gum, Brush Box, Bungalow Palm, Cabbage Palm, Beech, and lots of climbers, small shrubs and grasses such as lomandra.
Was this on a coniferous tree? If yes, it might be Fomitopsis pinicola
