Lake Lewisville is a man made flood control reservoir. These American Alligators are in East Texas, but not really here in North Texas. They do get into the lake from time to time. There was a huge one that was found dead in 2010 that Texas Parks and Wildlife had to haul away from the shoreline. Can hardly wait for warmer days to go looking again, but at a distance with a long camera lens :)

Do you think they are natives?

I have spotted several tracks and slide marks, but not the gator. They occasionally happen to appear in our lake. This one is only 3-4 feet according to the report. I am finding two sizes of tracks, however. I will keep looking to see if I can get its photo sunning - that is with my long lens only :)
