Description:

Large black and white butterfly with distinctive shape. Spring form is lighter than summer form. This butterfly was very fast moving making it a difficult photography subject. It stopped long enough to feed at a dandelion for a couple of quick shots.

Habitat:

Temperate forest/ field area. Pocahontas State Park, Virginia.
