Bald Eagle

Haliaeetus leucocephalus

Description:

We've had quite the gathering of eagles this winter. In the second photo alone there are over 70 eagles. The last two photos show an area visible from the same spot, I just had to turn around. Just from standing in the same spot and doing a 360º turn I probably saw over 100 eagles.

Habitat:

Most of them have been hanging out on the roofs of the canneries and in the nearby trees. There are lots of boats offloading fish in the area and they come to scavenge scraps.
