Springbok

Antidorcas marsupialis marsupialis

Description:

Springboks are medium sized brown, reddish-tan, and white antelopes that weigh up to 106 pounds for males and 97 pounds for females. They can reach speeds just over 60 mph.

Habitat:

They inhabit dry inland areas and grasslands of southern Africa. These animals can meet their water needs solely from the food that they eat.

Notes:

This animal, together with numerous others were seen at the Rhino & Lion Park outside Johannesburg.
