Shiny Whistling Thrush

Myophonus melanurus


The Shiny Whistling Thrush (Myophonus melanurus) is a species of bird in the Turdidae family. It is endemic to Indonesia. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.


Seen at the foot of Sumatra's Mt. Kerinci, the highest volcano in SE Asia, in the Kerinci Seblat National Park.
