Red Fox

Vulpes vulpes

Description:

Large fox species. Red rust coat, white lower part of mouth, neck, shoulders, and chest. Darker legs to almost black. Tips of ears are also black. Long bushy tail that is longer then half it's body. (There maybe color variations in subspecies, location and season).

Habitat:

Their dens are in the ground sometimes on the side of a hill so they can spy for prey. Can be found in both forest and open fields.

Notes:

spotted this as it was mingling with Canada Geese probably hoping to grab one. In the first image you can just make out the heads of the geese at the horizon.
