Herb 7-8 feet tall with chains of red, yellow-tipped pendant bracts.

Habitat:

Tropical river valley.

Notes:

Spotted at the edge of a grassy area in Waimea Falls Park. This species is native to South America. The second image is simply a crop from the first, zoomed-in on the flowers.
