Serval

Leptailurus serval

Description:

Medium sized nocturnal cat with interesting stripes, spots and distinctive large listener's ears. The ears feature white spots that allow it to be easily seen from the rear by following kittens.

Habitat:

Seen in short grass, though this is unusual.

Notes:

Normally noctural, this Serval was spotted in the open at day time, standing aware of our presence for a moment before bounding away.

Very nice spotting - servals are often very well hidden and not so easy to spot.
