Hi Hema, this is a very beautiful spotting. I also think it is a Brahminy skink, there are a lot of them around our house, in our garden.

Beautiful photo, Hema! I will third a skink of some variety, I don't really know the species you find in India though. Had a look, and I think I trust Satyen's suggestion of Brahminy skink! Nice :D
