I couldn't leave this beauty alone! I just wish there was more info on the species other than it being Australian.

Stephen, I found it! It's a Snake Mantid, Kongobatha diademata.
I can't seem to find much info on them but apparently people like to keep them as pets.

Hi Stephen, this is an adult Mantid. It looks most like Tropidomantis tenera:

However, as far as I can tell, this species doesn't occur in Australia. Perhaps there is a similar species or maybe there have been escaped/established populations. I am not sure at this time but maybe this info will help. I think a bit more research is in order.
