Description:

Brownish-gray hawk moth, about 4cm long. Hippotion celerio (Linnaeus, 1758) known as the Vine Hawk-Moth or Silver-striped Hawk-Moth, is a moth of the Sphingidae family. It is found in Africa, Southern Europe, Central and Southern Asia and Australia. It can be found further north, because of its migratory nature. Wikipedia. There are recorded occurrences also in Southeast Asia (see Notes). Also called Taro Hornworm, and Sweet Potato Hawk-moth appearing in Southeast Asia and Philippines agricultural research papers.

Habitat:

Spotted in the laundry area near the backyard.
