Spear Cricket

Description:

A strange orthoptera insect with a length of 37mm from forehead to wingtip. Very long antennae, much longer than it's body length. Green in color with dark wings flattened down. It is currently in it's camouflage pose. This cricket is possibly a Truljalia parvispinosa or T. ornata. It might also be from other genera such as Anisotrypus, Furcitrella, Sonotrella, or Varitrella.

Habitat:

Plants in the rainforest of Maliau Basin, Tawau, Sabah. I found this on a dining table in the MBSC dining hall one night.

Notes:

This is another amazing spotting I have spotted for the first time. Spotting 300th is coming right up, the spotting will be a weirder insect related to this insect. >>>Map accuracy : 5km diameter.
