Description:

Williamson's sapsucker is mostly black with a yellow belly and white wing patches. The male has a black head with two white stripes and a red chin.

Habitat:

Spotted in a Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir dominant forest in Kittitas County, Washington.

Notes:

They are noted for taking sap from pine and fir trees.
