Chama-se pavão a aves dos géneros Pavo e Afropavo da família dos faisões (Phasianidae). Os pavões preferem alimentar-se de insetos e outros pequenos invertebrados, mas também comem sementes, folhas e pétalas. Os pavões exibem um complicado ritual de acasalamento, do qual a cauda extravagante do macho teria um papel principal.

Peafowl is the collective term for the species, this is a male so it is a Peacock in Peafowl species, females are Peahens (Peahens are mostly just white and green with no big tail feathers) This particular verity is Indian or Blue Peafowl (Pavo cristatus). Google it and checkout some images so you can see the difference in the sexes!!!
