Ornithogalum broteri

Description:

Hairless plant with erect leafless flowering stems, 15-35 cm in height. Leaves linear up to 15 cm in length. Only one leaf per stem. Bell-shaped flowers arranged in a dense raceme, with 6 petals up to 16 mm in length, white; 6 stamens; style smaller than the ovary. Tepals completely white. The fruit is a ovoid-fusiform capsule. It blooms at the end of spring and in summer.

Habitat:

It is endemic in certain areas of Portugal and the westernmost regions of the Spanish Central System. Spotted in a clearing in a pine tree forest at the mountains. Parque Natural de Sierra de Gredos.
