Tube Shaped Grasshopper

This brown grasshopper was tube or barrel shaped, almost the same cylindrical form from head to thorax to abdomen. The hind leg "knees" were black. It has no indication of any wing structures or wing pads in spite of its size.

Sitting on the rocks along the river of the Chorreadero Park above Chiapa de Corzo, Chiapas, Mexico.
