Description:

Clusters of black berries (about the size of small blueberries) on a light green vine. Very few leaves, though there is one that is a bit heart shaped in second picture. Area near berries is less thorny than other parts of the climbing vine. Thorns are thin and sharp.

Habitat:

Partial shade. near pine trees, berry bushes in loose clay soil. Cataula GA

Notes:

This is a wintering fruit in the south. Some pages indicate that vine, root and berries may be edible/medicinal. Do not eat any wilding fruit without consulting a specialist or professional forager.
