How interesting Peter! My main observation about these guys was living in such close proximity to each other was a risky business given they do not bother to move before they excrete. We saw several get "squirted" at close range!
Great series! Thanks! On spotting one you caught the Blue Foot in the process of scratching its head! Did you ever notice that birds apply two methods when scratching their head? They either do it "over ther wing" (by lowering ther wing, bending their head backwards and reaching the head with their toes by lifting the leg over the wing, see http://www.stanford.edu/group/stanfordbi...) - or they do it "under there wing", i.e. by lowering the head and reaching up with their toes. Boobies, as seen on your spotting, do under the wing. Frigate birds, surprisingly, do it under the wing when in flight and over the wing when in flight!
