A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Deinopis subrufa
Small body long legs. Roughly 10cm leg tip to tip.
Bathtub.
Behaved like a dead stick when I moved it out side. Also called Ogre-faced spider. Small pieces of web nearby might have belonged to this animal.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to observe this little guy, he was freaking out our cleaner who claimed there was a giant spider in the bathtub. I think he had a net all ready to go as there was bits getting caught on the stick I used to pick him up.
And this one is a male. Check out their eyes...

I didn't realise such an interesting creature was living right outside my window. I really need to look more closely around the place.
BugEric has got it. If you watch it might build a little stretchy net and start catching ants. :)
It might be some 'long-jawed' spider. If you check Tetragnatha species for your area you might have luck.
This is a great site for identifying Australian spiders & insects http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_...
Good luck & welcome to Project Noah!
