Fringilla montifringilla
Wondering what type of bird this is...visitor to my backyard tree today
Thanks Birdlaylady6000! What a frenzy this little bird has created for birders and photographers in Vancouver & area, lots of visitors - all very respectful...
Nice to see you have the Brambling in your garden! I saw reports of it on the birding line. Great Bird for Vancouver!
Brambling returned today so was able to take a few more photos & have added them
Thanks Liam for ID...makes sense now why I couldn't ID it!...not a usual visitor to my area of the world...have reported to ebird as per your request.
António I was actually talking about the montifringilla, here you can see them in a flock... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/935...
The Coelebs we have all year too...
I imagined that because of your spotting of a Fringilla Coelebs :-) here i see them all year, but never in flocks, normaly singing in matting season for marking territory and atract femmales,in the winter i see them alone and normaly i see the malles, femmales are less coloured more dificult to see,a lovely bird :-)
Hehe António we share the same thought :)
Forgot to say it's only during winter we see it here... Every year great flocks come to eat in my garden...
