Eastern kingbird

Tyrannus tyrannus

Description:

This bird, seen across a cove in the distance, caught my eye as it chased an American crow away from the tree in which it must have had its nest. This little bird didn’t stop when the crow was a few trees distant – it rode the crow’s back for a really long way to ensure that it was nowhere near the family home.

Habitat:

Jordan Lake
