It is found commonly in the wet zone at elevations of between 800 and 2000 feet. It prefers high rainfall and dense vegetated forested areas in lower elevations.
It has a gentle, fluttery flight and is considered as a graceful butterfly which settles frequently. It mostly avoids open spaces.
