@Phil_S oh now Cicada killer wasps they freak me out even more but that would be interesting to see. I've tried to photograph them several times before but I get scared and run away LOL

@tp91395 I'm sure, and yes they are dumb but huge and gross and they bombard into you, just gross LOL they've always freaked me out and probably always will :D

Cicadas are harmless !
They are also not vary smart.

I had a really neat encounter with these. Twice in the same hike I observed Cicada Killer Wasps attacking Cicadas. I had now working camera on my phone that day and am so upset I missed documenting such a cool spotting. I intend to return to that area this summer in hopes of seeing this again.
