Boulenger's Keelback

Fowlea asperrimus

Description:

F. asperrimus is a non-venomous water-snake endemic to Sri Lanka. It is a very agressive snake and will bite or try to if handled.

Habitat:

Farmland, mixed tropical forest.

Notes:

When I researched this snake I found two latin names, first being Xenochrophis asperrimus, and the most common was Fowlea asperrimus, which one is the correct scientific name?
