A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Rostrhamus sociabilis
Large, dark raptor with a distinctive, fine hook at the end of its beak.
This bird was perching in trees and bushes next to the shore of a lake in the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary. The ground under the trees was littered with the empty shells of Apple Snails, the bird's source of food.
