Giant Blue Robber Fly

Blepharotes splendidissimus

Description:

I was attracted by the buzzing sound and flashes of blue color bobbing from one tree trunk to another. Then it rested on one of the lower branch. It was sucking the juice of a metallic shield bug, giving me time to take this picture. Quite a size, roung 35cm.
