This is the largest of this genus (Acanthocephala) within the range (southern United States to Guatemala). Adults feed on juices of plants. 28 to 34 mm (1.1 to 1.3 in) long.

Habitat:

Spotted on a plant in an over grown area in Biloxi, Mississippi.
