Pfeiffer's Amber Snail

Oxyloma elegans

Small, tiny all black (or dark grey) snail, some 12mm in length, three wholrs in shell. The base or body whorl is large, with a small spire. Recorded colours vary, from brown to black. In photos it is seen crawling on my hat, in order to show its relative size. It was found very close to water, but NOT taken from the stream!

Here, seen in a meadow on banks of a stream, rural area; (the rural area mixture of lowland broad-leaved forests and agricultural fields).
