If it's Rábida, this would be Opuntia galapageia var. galapageia, endemic to that island, just as the other prickly pear cacti on their respective home islands. Some became almost extinct because of introduced goats, but since we've largly gotten rid of the goats, endemic plants like these recover. Join us at www.facebook.com/darwinfoundation for more info.
