Strapweed filefish

Pseudomonacanthus macrurus

Description:

A filefish from the Moncanthidae that can reach 24 cm (9 in.). Mottled shades of yellow to brown, greenish brown, tan and grayish white. Covered with numerous spots, usually darkish blotch behind and below eye.

Habitat:

Strap-weed filefish are often found in pairs and inhabit reefs across the Indian and Pacific oceans.
