I did not know that about the spotted tails! There are supposed to be only 3 types of trout in GA and Rainbow is one of them. The other one these resembled to me was a Brown Trout. But no spots on their tails.

Some of the trouts have spotted tales and the only trout that I know of that has spots on the tail is the rainbow trout. This is it's distinctive feature... so this might be it.

They could be Brown Trout. They were introduced to the US.
