Micrurus nigrocinctus
Central American Coral snake belongs to the family Elapidae. It is crepuscular and nocturnal, feeds mainly on small snakes, amphibians, fish and invertebrates. It is highly poisonous, though it is not aggressive. Its venom contains a strong neurotoxin that affects the nervous system and can be fatal to humans. The destruction of their habitat and hunting to which it is subjected by their populations decline.--------------------------------- La serpiente de Coral Centroamericana pertenece a la familia Elapidae. Es crepuscular y nocturna, se alimenta principalmente de serpientes pequeñas, anfibios, peces e invertebrados. Es altamente venenosa, aunque no es agresiva. Su veneno contiene una fuerte neurotoxina que afecta el sistema nervioso y puede ser mortal para humanos. La destrucción de su hábitat y la cacería a que es sometida esta haciendo que sus poblaciones declinen.
Its area of distribution extends from the South of Mexico, Central America, to northern Colombia. Its habitat is varied and includes lowland rainforest, dry forest of lowlands, spiny forest, premontane humid forest and premontane dry forest.-----------------------------------Su área de distribución se extiende desde el sur de México, América Central, hasta el norte de Colombia. Su hábitat es variado e incluye bosque lluvioso de tierras bajas, bosque seca de tierras bajas, bosque espinoso, bosque húmedo premontano, y bosque seco premontano.

I agree with Maria db, that is a poisonous snake. How did you get that picture
Nice spotting. Are you or the person holding the snake trained to handle venomous snakes? (We don't want to encourage Noah spotters to just pick up snakes unless they really know what they are doing.)
