European Green Woodpecker

Picus viridis

Description:

A juvenile Green woodpecker, located 2,2m up on a spruce-tree, calling for its mother to come feed it.

Habitat:

Mixed forest, on a spruce

Notes:

I managed to come as close to 2-3m from this beauty to get these great photos, stayed out of range for 45 min in case I spotted the adult. But it didn't show. The next day it was gone.
