Acanthiza nana
A little bird about 100mm long with greyish green head, wings and back. the rump and belly were a bright yellow. Eyes were dark. small beak.
Spotted in dry woodlands. Also seen in orchards, parks and gardens. Widespread in East and South East Australia.
Its nest is supposed to be an untidy dome built of shredded bark, grass, lichens and bound together with spiders' web. Nests are usually suspended high in small branches. These birds are often seen with the striated thornbill (my next spotting). also known as the Little Thornbill
