A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Thryothorus ludovicianus
This is a series of a single bird progressing to an adult in a nest at my home. The Carolina Wren is a small bird with a white eye stripe, and lifted tail. They have a very complex array of calls to learn, and can throw off even the most seasoned bird watcher in a hardwood forest. The shots consist of the birds when they are only a few days out of the egg, to 4 days later, and another 3 days later, then finally another 10 days after that the young are catching bugs on their own!

Thanks guys! This was the goal of me photographing them whenever I could sneak a peak. I am glad to finally have a place to show the progress all the way through. This was the 3rd year for them to nest at my home, in my mail box none the less!
