Long-tailed Duck

Description:

Small, plump, duck that winters in the new england waters of the Atlantic. During the breeding season this duck can be found up north in the waters of Alaska. A very rare vagrant south, but becoming more common. This bird was found just off of the Ferry Landing Jetty on the Bolivar side of Galveston, Texas.
