Description:

Microscopic arachnid, eight legs, main body approximately 200 microns (1/125 inch). Prominent pedi-palps, probably a mite.

Habitat:

Found in a foliose lichen on the side of a tree. Rural SW Pennsylvania

Cool spot! I would agree that this looks like a mite. What type, I can't say. I mostly deal with parasitic ones at work (veterinary hospital). Perhaps where it was found will be able to help you with an ID if you can find someone knowledgeable in mites.
